Hosting a Local Group

If you are interested in hosting a Local Group in your area, the following guide may help to get you started.

1) Eckhart recommends following the Silent Group format. The group may begin with ten to twenty minutes of silence (silent meditation), 1 to 1 1/2 hours of an Eckhart Tolle audio or visual recording, ending with ten to twenty minutes of silence (silent meditation). It's best not to engage in discussion, as it tends to stimulate the mind and ego.

2) Your group will need a location where you can comfortably listen or show the recordings. This could be in your own home, a friend's home or a room in a local community building. The necessary equipment required is: CD player, DVD player, audiotape player or videotape player (depending on what media type you're showing) and a television set large enough that all the attendees can easily view the screen (if you're showing a video or DVD).

3) To register your group on eckharttolle.com, please fill out the registration form.

There is a $35.00 US web administration fee.

Acquire one or more series of CDs, DVDs, audiotape or videotape from teaching sessions with Eckhart from the online store. You may want to continue purchasing audio/visual material to share with your group once your library has been heard and viewed. To assist with the cost, a discount of 30% is extended to group facilitators registered on eckharttolle.com. It may also be helpful to collect donations from your attendees at each Gathering to cover the cost of purchasing audio/visual material.
